THE ORIGIN

At Candles with a K, or simply "Kandles," our journey began in 2020 with a flicker of inspiration and a sudden desire for tangible authenticity. Founded by Ketaki Dixit, a former cryptocurrency newspaper editor and journalist, the brand emerged from a transition away from the fast-paced digital world to the slow, deliberate craft of hand-poured, organic creation.

 

BEAUTY BUILT TO BURN

From the very beginning, our vision was simple yet uncompromising: to design candles that completely captivate the eyes while performing beautifully when lit. We noticed a common dilemma in the luxury home fragrance world - visually stunning or hyper-realistic sculptural candles are often treated as mere shelf decor, left unlit because they burn unevenly, tunnel down the center, or spill messily.

We set out to redefine the sensory experience. We believe a candle’s true artistry is only realized when it is actually used. While our focus remains heavily on creating breathtaking, decorative works of art that elevate your home style, absolute functionality is a foundational part of our business.

THE ZERO-WASTE PROMISE

To achieve this balance, our high aesthetics are backed by meticulous craftsmanship and structural engineering. We source 100% natural plant-based soy wax and rigorously pair it with precisely measured wicks. The result is a highly functional, clean-burning candle designed to melt evenly into a perfect pool.

Our candles do not leave wasteful rings of hard wax clinging to the glass, nor do they cave in. We ensure that every single gram of premium wax is efficiently utilized, delivering a slow, fragrant, and zero-waste burn from the first strike of a match to the very last drop. To us, true sustainability means creating beautiful products that work flawlessly, leaving no waste behind.

FROM STOVETOP TO 5,00,000+ MOMENTS

Our journey started modestly in Bengaluru, with just five homemade candle concepts shared on Instagram: Coffee, Lemongrass, Rose, Apple Cinnamon, and Eucalyptus. The community's response to this fusion of quality and art was immediate, quickly bringing in our first milestone corporate order of 10,000 candles. We evolved rapidly from tentative stovetop experiments to an agile artisanal studio capable of pouring over 400 candles an hour without ever compromising on individual hand-crafted care. Today, we offer over 100 unique, paraffin-free products shipped pan-India, having illuminated more than 5,00,000 spaces across the country.

Behind every candle is a passionate, collaborative team. Our co-partner, an architect, meticulously creates our elegant packaging and labels, ensuring clean lines and visual balance. Our dedicated operations team pours their hearts into every batch, operating as a proud, women-owned studio that celebrates deliberate design, physical chemistry, and sustainable luxury.
